KindleNotes - A friendly note app for Paperwhite (1 & 2) and Touch
KindleNotes v. 0.3:
(Kindle Menu / KUAL compatible app) Code:
Version v. 0.3 - Fixed "missing buttons on the right" bug - Critical update: Fixed moving-note instead of copying-notes during exports - Better notes icons - Minor improvements Version v. 0.2 - Better overall performances - Notes are now in an editable format in notes folder - Saving state is now notified in a more accurate way As its predecessors, I've written it from scratch for you, Kindle users only! ![]() It's really tiny (73.3 kbyte uncompressed), and as usual based on HTML+JAVASCRIPT+BASH languages. KindleNotes supported gestures: - Swipe-right: bigger fonts - Swipe-left: smaller fonts - Double tap: default fonts You can write up to 5 different notes, and export them also into documents folder or leafad app (if it is installed!). Native predictive text is supported. For best result and loading times, I suggest you to install this app from the whole Kindle Menu bundle pack, v. 0.8 and above. In fact, this app is mainly thought as support tool for Kindle Menu users. TODO: - Add support for text selection - Add copy/past tools (requires text selection before) - Add an alterative, faster keyboard (matchbox-keyboard) - Add a way to import text from other files I'd like to see how does this app show on Kindle Touch device (I've tested it only on my PW), so any screenshot is welcome! Enjoy! Note for developers: I know that the code is quite "rustic" to understand now, I'll make some order before next updates. Last edited by Aeris; 11-13-2013 at 03:29 PM. |

A suggestion:
We bug twobob about the progress in porting osmo to the kindles - that little organizer would fit in well with these other applications. Last edited by knc1; 11-12-2013 at 07:48 PM. |

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=203326 Once this is installed you can install other programs such as this one that will show as buttons in the KUAL menu. You can then also load KindleMenu: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=225860 as a pretty GUI for launching items. Aeris: I have an issue that after saving a note, the buttons don't show on the bottom (well, just barely) where do I change that? |

Damn, there is a little problem... seems that css file is cached, so even if you try with my method, nothing different will show.
Try this way: after modifying the file as suggested before, replace: href="../stylesheets/common.css" with: href="../stylesheets/common.css?version=0.1" in header1.html file (html folder) The decimal number must be changed everytime you modify something, or you won't be able to see the chages. Sorry, I know this is annoying, but can't understand while Kindle Notes caches css file, and other apps don't ![]() Quote:
UPDATE: faster debug method. Ignore the above request, just add this rows: Code:
<style> #Textarea{ width:220pt; } </style> Code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../stylesheets/common.css" /> Last edited by Aeris; 11-13-2013 at 08:25 AM. |

Updated to v. 0.3
Wonder if the bug needs still to be fixed or it's gone now Last edited by Aeris; 11-13-2013 at 05:27 PM. |

perhaps "absolutely" positioned "floated" divs might be an option in the future...?
just a thought. |
