URLS in messages instead of Smilies

I was wondering why it is some messages we end up with URLs for Smilies and not the icon...

Simply put; if you DRAG the smiley to the message you get the URL; if you CLICK the smiley you get the actual smiley!

So

That just seems to be the nature of the current software.
