My BO is fine, but my KO is dirty
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, context is everything, isn't it? Has anyone else experienced a slight soiling on the letters "KO" (or all of the letters) due to the way one holds a Kobo Glo? My Kindle Paperwhite 1 is immune to such calamitous disorder! ![]() ![]() Thanks. Don Last edited by Dr. Drib; 11-03-2013 at 09:37 AM. |

I'd like to rub off all my letters, but no such luck.

the way I hold it doesn't affect the Kobo logo ; quite a year since I own it and still clear and sharp (though I haven't got a case, as I don't find what I want, it's kept in a pouch when I don't read)

Have you thought about skinning it? Me, I'm a believer in skins for eReaders, especially the clear ones, because that way you can hold it naked (I mean the eReader of course) without a thought about causing blemishes. I don't think the screen protectors are necessary and they seem to me to get in the way.
I couldn't find a source for clear skins for the Glo, but there are many attractive designs. Perhaps one of those might appeal to you. |

I've found silicone protectors for most my devices except for the Glo. That's nice because when it soils it simply peels off. I'm often eating while I read so this is a convenient must.

Well, mine has been in my pocket, in the front pocket of my backpack, the side pocket of my backpack, the main pocket, in my binder, in my jacket, etc. I take it around everywhere so it's more from that as my thumb rested on the side, not the bottom.

I haven't tried any skins. When not in its case, I enjoy holding it naked.
It's so light, it's a joy to hold. It's really a great little device, crippled by some manufacturing shortcuts. In my opinion, anyway. Don |

"Crippled by some manufacturing shortcuts" What are your peeves? Just curious. I think the software is the only real shortcoming(and it seems to be coming along), unless you count lack of multi-touch...

Well, I personally dislike the way the 'KOBO' letters rub off. It also (to my way of thinking, anyway) the reader has a somewhat 'greasy' feel to it. I've never had problems with the firmware; but then, I only use my ebook to read. I don't play games or fiddle around with an external card, as do some members. All in all, a great little ereader.
