Vivid One Piece fan here
Hello.Im something of an infamous OP manga forums members, especialy on Arlong Park and OPHQ.Im also a big lover of literature of the weird.Recently, ive begun to read the works referenced by Lovecraft in his "Supernatural Horror in Literature",however considering I live in the czech republic where 75% of theese have never been published (and some around 1920) ,im dependant on online versions-and many of the new ones just dont have theese.
I read and liked:H.P.L.,Robert W. Chambers,Arthur Machen,Clark Ashton Smith,Irvin S. Cobb,Ambrose Bierce,Nathaniel Hawthorne,Abraham Merritt (I have the text of "The Dwellers in the Mirage" if anyones interested),Herbert S. Gorman,Theophile Gautier,Charlote P. Gilman, the "mythos" stories of Robert E. Howard,Gertrude Barrows Bennet ("Claimed!" also has a full online version, despite its late publication date),Lord Dunsany,Charles Robert Maturin and many more.I also like our fantastic fiction (he began writing in its earliest stages) writer Jan Weiss, author of the "building with 1000 floars" . Im hoping to find the elusive gems I couldnt find elsewhere of read on horrormasters.com due to my inability to open PDF documents.I already have managed to find "The Door of the Unreal" here by Biss. Hi. A note-anyone here read Machen or Maturin's "Melmoth the Wanderer". |

Hey, Lobolover: I just saw your posting, and apparently we have the same tastes. I read Melmoth the Wanderer in a doctoral class on the Gothic in Fiction and loved it. I plan to go back and reread it soon. The interweaving narrative threads and the stories-within-stories were fascinating to me. Did you enjoy it? I love Machen and have posted a few of his books here in LRF format (Sony). Don |
