File names not working
Okay So I just transferred a bunch of Darren Shan books on to my kindle (Not kindle fire) they were PDF files until I converted them to MOBI files, so when I look on my kindle the names don't show up I know this sounds bad but I hate it, I can't tell what book is which, Please tell me how I can Make it so I can read the actual iel names, The Names that are on display area stuff like

You can use Calibre to get the metadata (titles, author name, etc) how you want it to read and then transfer the books from there or do a 'save to disk' and the changes should be applied before you copy them over to the Kindle.

It sounds like the metadata is not set right in the books. You'd have to manually edit the books, one at a time, to set the metadata correctly, using Calibre, Mobi2MobiGUI, etc. to do it. Probably because PDF files don't have metadata, so it took something that seemed relevant to set the metadata to, when the conversion was done.

Yeah it's definitely a problem with the metadata, during the conversion from PDF to MOBI, whatever tool you used probably wasn't able to retrieve the title of the book properly and instead used some hash-sum of the book to avoid creating several files with the same name.
Your best bet is to use Calibre to convert them and then edit the metadata easily and transfer them to your Kindle device. |
