Torchwood spin-off novels

I'm looking for Torchwood novel recommendations. I liked the first one, Another Life by Peter Anghelides, but didn't finish the second one, Border Princes by Dan Abnett, because it bored me to death.
If you've read all of them, which ones are closest to the TV show and which authors, beside Peter Anghelides, do you recommend?

Whoa! Captain Jack wrote one?

I might have to check some of these out. Sorry you had a bad experience with Abnett. I've enjoyed his Warhammer 40k stuff, but perhaps Torchwood isn't his cup of tea.

The writing wasn't bad at all, but somehow the plot failed to captivate me. Also his character descriptions seemed a bit "flat."

I'm afraid, for me, "flat" rather flatters the TV show - watched the first episode, then dipped in now and then to check it was as silly as I thought it was.
It was ......

Can't see myself trying the books, frankly.

Don't give up on the show without watching the "Children of Earth" series, possibly some of the best science fiction TV I've ever seen. I've never read any of the novels, but I did listen to one of the audio books from my library, "Everyone says hell" which was read by Burn Gorman who played Owen Harper in the show and found it quite enjoyable.
