PDF Conversion

Hello,

Many e-books I'm interested in reading only come in a .PDF format. When loaded into Kindle the text is so small it's impossible to read. I've tried converting them using several different formats but they all turn the document to junk. Does anyone know how to address this issue? Or, can it even be done.

Thanks,

Gwaredd

@Gwaredd - have you read this Sticky - https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=118605 - Also there are many threads in this forum where PDF conversions are discussed at considerable length.

Yes, conversions from PDF are possible, but I don't think there's a guaranteed one step solution. Most PDFs conversions will require some editing of the final or an intermediate format.

I always start by converting the PDF to PRC using the MobiCreator (Windows Only). I then use Calibre to convert the PRC to EPUB. If the required 'tidying up' falls within my Sigil skillset, then I'll use it to do any editing. Otherwise I'll convert the PRC to RTF and use Word, where I have more experience and a boatload of macros. I save DOCX in Word and use Calibre to convert the DOCX to ePUB and AZW3.

If I can't get a reasonable PRC out of MobiCreator then I'll try a couple alternatives - including Calibre, Nitro Pro and Acrobat .

I usually don't bother trying to convert PDFs that are multi-column and/or contain lots of pictures, diagrams, tables etc.

BR
