Can't Find the Config Dialog

I have the same problem and can't find the config dialog. I have tried selecting "Run welcome wizard" and it just shuts down. I also tried removing and reinstalling but it still didn't run hte wizard.
I am running in Debian Wheezy.

This thread is from 2008 and doesn't apply to modern versions of calibre. Simply right click the calibre button on the toolbar in the main calibre window to manuipulate calibre libraries.

Why so old a Calibre? old MAC? Some older (non-compatible) devices?
If not: Just upgrade, a lot has improved.

(the Library Icon=Calibre button) but I don't remember what version the functionality changed

Don't use the Distro version... Really old. V1.3 is the latest

Use the Command on the Calibre Linux download page

Welcome to Mobileread.

We would love to help you, but you have to provide us with a starting point. Start from the beginning and describe exactly what your problem is, because so far our guessing has not helped.

Additionally as a general rule of thumb various Linux repository versions of calibre are not supported in this forum. If you are installing calibre for the first time then you should follow the directions here and perform a binary install.

As previously pointed out you can't have the same problem as someone running calibre 0.5.?? from 5 years ago.

Micksulley,
Within the Calibre forums, reviving a topic more than 90 days (approx) old is frowned upon because Calibre receives an update every week on Friday.

Assisting others is tough online, everyone reads and interprets things differently. Adding older versions of the software to the issue just makes things tougher. So that is one of the first things we've got to correct.

So, if possible, see if you can update to the current version (1.3, I believe) of Calibre. If you can not use the current version, please tell us why.

Other things we might need to know is the exact OS and version number you're using. Info about where you're trying to install/run Calibre from (C: drive, flash drive, from the cloud, network attached storage, etc) would also help.
