The BPO Syndrome: Fiction

Synopsis
The story is set in India during the early years of the new millennia about an educated middle class boy Saransh Kashyap who graduates from school with starry dreams of making it big early in life. As he plans on becoming a Software engineer and migrate abroad, life has some other plans for Saransh.

Saransh soon finds himself working for the BPO/Call-center industry where he least expected himself to be in. His entire lifestyle and outlook changes as he gets sucked into the glitters of his new found life and moving away from his original goal. Will he be able to get back the control of his life? Is it true that a person’s will is completely powerless in light of external circumstances? Does Karma play a role in people’s life?

The story tries to explore the significant role of external factors in someone’s life while also highlighting the BPO industry culture from a point of view of an insider. The ups and downs in a person’s life, the romance lost, friends gained and lessons learned.

If English is not your first language (and the synopsis you've posted reads as though it isn't) I'd strongly urge you to get your book edited by a native English speaker. The synopsis just doesn't read like "normal" English. You'll have a lot more success with your book if you do so.

Smile Thanks

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the critique.
My attempt is not to write a thesis or encyclopedia but a simple book which can be understood by all.
The sentence formation are in simple English and not Edwardian or Shakespeare.
Lets face it, this is my first book and I am no Salman Rushdie writing "the Satanic Verses".
Having said that, I agree that there are some typographical errors in the script which I have identified and will be sorting them immediately.
Also, I agree that the language in synopsis and in the entire book is a little different from UK English as my main target base is India.
I will surely take an editors help to get different versions as per the world geography.

Regards
Saurabh Sharma
