Spooky Short Stories for Kids?

My five-year-old loves watching the Goosebumps tv series on Netflix and is asking several times per day if it is Halloween yet. I wanted to purchase Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark to read to her, but it's not available as an ebook. Any recommendations?

Try http://www.ChildrenBedStories.com The 1st story called the monster is nice, not too spooky though. Good luck

I read my first Saki (H.H. Munro) short story when I was a pre-teen, and I still remember it. It was The Open Window, and is included in Beasts and Super-Beasts, available at Project Gutenberg.

http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/269

It's also available here in the MobileReads Library:

Munro died in 1916, so everything should be in the public domain.

The Open Window is a bit spooky, but also very funny -- perfect for a kid, IMHO, but you know your child best.

My daughter LOVES the Weenie books by David Lubar. They are really good, but she was a couple of years older than yours when she started reading them. Check them out for the future, though. They're funny and scary.
