I'd like to know if it is possible to share on Facebook when I start or finish a book?

I can't speak for the Kobo as I don't own one. But you can use the Goodreads App on Facebook to do that and more. As Amazon bought Goodreads recently tho I don't know if that will be the case in the future. They may well restrict Goodreads to Kindle owners and suck it into their closed ecosystem

The Kobo devices have some Facebook integration. I think it will post reading status for your book, but I don't use it.

I think it all depends on whether you are reading ePub or kEpub material (but I might be wrong here).

I think you're right Peter. If reading a kepub then the Kobo lets you share what you're reading on Facebook, with it automatically putting in the book title, description and cover image, and you can add some other text if you like.
