Recipes for Calibre on Ubuntu not working

Hello,

I have installed the latest Calibre version (0.9.43) to my Ubuntu 12.10 server (xserver, qt4 installed) and try to download the "economist"-recipe, which works fine in the Windows version.

Calibre downloads the right structure, recognizes all articles but the content is not downloaded or wrongly parsed...

I have executed calibre with the command:
Code:
sudo ebook-convert /usr/share/calibre/economist.recipe economist_newnew.mobi
There were 2 warnings:
1) Forcing index.html into XHTML namespace
Referenced file u'feed_18/index.html' not found

2) SVG rasterizer unavailable, SVG will not be converted

The output file doesn't have any content -- I have attached it here as well as a reference.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot,
Dominik

Here is the whole output of Calibre:
Spoiler:
Code:
notroot@ubuntu:/usr/share/calibre/periodicals$ sudo ebook-convert /usr/share/calibre/economist.recipe economist_newnew.mobi

I've just found out that this is defnitively a download problem: the temporary article/feed files are as quoted below... Any ideas how to fix this download problem?

Spoiler:
Code:
cat  /tmp/calibre_0.9.43_tmp_SLKNgF/h2AiSI_plumber/feed_1/article_4/index.html

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en" dir="ltr" xmlns:fb="http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml">

            .article_description {
                text-indent: 0pt;
            }

            a.article {
                font-weight: bold; text-align:left;
            }

            a.feed {

            }

            .calibre_navbar {

Thanks for the reply. I have calibre up and running, however downloading the economist still fails... Any further idea appreciated!

All I know is that when I try the suggested command line
Code:
/opt/calibre/ebook-convert "The Economist.recipe" Economist.mobi
or
Code:
/opt/calibre/ebook-convert "The Economist.recipe" Economist.epub
I generated an output file around 6 meg in size for either example. Note that
  1. I didn't need to run the code as root
  2. Calibre downloaded the current recipe for me.
