Browsing by Published date
I have a library of monthly publications going back 25 years. Is there a way I can have the tag browser show the year component of the Published Date meta field, so I can jump straight to a specific year and list only the issues of that year?

Simply type:
pubdate:=2013 in the search bar, replace 2013 with the year of interest. |

You can do this by creating a composite custom column (a "column built from other columns", but not "acts like tags"). You would check the box "Show in tag browser". The template would be
Code:
{pubdate:format_date(yyyy)} Do note that composite columns can cause performance problems, especially for very large libraries. Try it and see if the performance is acceptable. If not, then delete the column. |
