Hello!
I got a Kobo Touch since two years now and I would like to be able to read at night outside. I don't like to read on a tablet so I'm looking for the Aura right now. 1- Is the back that slippery? 2- Can you hold it with your left hand? I like the rubber back of the Kobo Touch and I'm afraid to miss it. I look everywhere but it seems not in stock anywhere, so I can't try it. Additionnal question; how long does it takes generally to be delivered? Thanks a lot! |

Personally, I don't find it slippery bot other people do find it slippery. Some people fix this by placing a surface with more grip on the back.

It may be worth waiting a few months since it looks like Kobo has a new reader in the works. The photos going around the net show a design similar to the Aura, but with a rubberized back. We don't know much more about it though, since the product hasn't been released yet. Of course, unreleased products are also subject to change prior to release. |

Well, I want it pretty much right now since I'll be in vacation the next 3 weeks and I expect a lot of reading outside around the fireplace by nightfall.
I guess if I found some nice leather cover for it, it will be ok. That's why I was asking also how much time it took for delivery. |

Time for delivery to Quebec City? You should have local store with one in stock to try then buy.

Yeah, well, the Touch took 7 days and the mini I bought for my girlfriend took 4 days.
But still, more I look to the N514, more I think I'll be patient. |

Not slippery at all for me. My wife does not call me sandpaper paws for nothing! (Too much gardening without gloves...)

I don't really find it too slippery to hold, but it's more prone to slide when you set it down on a handy surface like your leg or a seat cushion - more likely to slide off and drop to the floor than the Touch was.
The hard smooth plastic surface is less pleasant to grip than the Touch, and the sharper corner digs into my hand more, especially with the greater weight of the Aura. Also the shiny surface shows fingerprints and smudges much more, which I find a bit bothersome as the light reflects off it when reading outdoors. I think there's been enough complaint about the Aura case design and surface coating that Kobo will smarten up and do something better with their next model. |

I agree that the case is not as nice as the Glo, especially the back. I don't like the wavy design, the quilted effect of the Glo is nicer.

Well, more arguments to wait for the N514. Thanks!
