sony PRS T1 or T2

Want to buy my son an ereader as he is going away. I have the sony T2 which is grand. The T1 is €30 cheaper so is there a big difference between the two. He will use it for reading only as he will have his laptop and he is not big into social media. Have read through various comparisons but still not clear. Does the T1 play music as well as this might be an advantage for him?

The T1 does not play music, but I doubt he would care. I have a T1 and I took it to the store when the T2 came out and did not see the T2 as noticeably better. Slightly whiter screen.

I would save the 30 euros, or give it to him with the reader to either exchange it for T2 or buy a few books or something else.

I think music is certainly an important part of a teenager's life, although we do not know his age.

It's hard not to see a kid without a pair of earphones glued to his or her ears.

Since reading is the primary focus for him for using an ebook reader, then you should probably buy him the best one you can find. Also, talk to him (if this is not a surprise gift), and find out what he knows about ebook Readers. His preference may come out in the conversation.

I think it's the other way round. The T1 does have audio and the T2 does not. I think anyway. Anyway, I'd get the T1. Spend the savings on books

I see no reason not to go with the T1 if it's cheaper. Both are good readers I'm sure, I love my T1!

And his phone or MP3 player probably does a better job of playing music than a reader would... without depleting said reader battery.
