Problem converting directly from Epub to RTF

When I use Calibre to convert from Epub to RTF, it often (not always) loses paragraph marks creating very long paragraphs. If I convert from Epub to MOBI to RTF, it works just fine. I am attaching 4 small files;

A sample of the original Epub
A RTF converted directly from the Epub
A MOBI converted from the Epub
A RTF converted from the MOBI that was converted from the Epub

If there is some setting in Calibre to make the direct conversion work righ, I would appreciate your help.
