Touch Today's problem

Well... first of all... my English is very bad (sometimes).
Second... Hello

Ahm.. the problem: yesterday I was sync my kobo with the desktop app and everything was fine until my little dog decided the cable was in the middle of his way.
So, my "pretty" dog jump and drop my kobo... making it disconected... So I think "well, I've to go... I'll finish the sync later"

Now I'm trying again and I've problems...
My computer didn't recognize my kobo.
I already reset/shut down my computer and still the same...
I've the great idea of reset my kobo (bad idea, now I need to pluggin that at the computer and that could be not so bad if I've some book in my little ereader)

Ok, the pc didn't recognize it...

Can I use a SD card to upgrade my kobo? And.... can I login at my kobo account without the kobo desktop app?

And the final question... how the PC can recognize my kobo again as an usb driver? u_u

¿El kobo si funciona? ¿Has probado otro cable usb?
Por lo que cuentas (espero), creo que lo que no sirve es el cable
Se puede actualizar y entrar a tu cuenta kobo mediante wifi, pero si lo que se descompuso fue la conexión del kobo, entonces si va a estar difícil volver a cargar la batería.

I'm testing and... is the port on the kobo... Really don't know how to put this in English but ahm I'll try... It's doing false contact.
I realized to open my kobo and it's detached. I don't know how to fix it, I guess I've to go with somebody that could do that... Or maybe that's the way it have to be, I really don't know...
By the moment I put it in the correct place and close the kobo again.

Pues el kobo funciona, lo que pasa es que me regresó a una de las primeras versiones (en serio no sé qué pensaba al reiniciarlo) y no me permite la conexión wi-fi hasta que lo configure con la computadora.
Es lo que pensaba, lo de la batería pero hasta ahorita más bien... carga si el cable queda adecuadamente, sin embargo sigue la computadora sin reconocerlo (que a fin de cuentas puedo cargarlo con el cable del teléfono).
De momento así lo he dejado hasta que pueda encontrar a alguien que pueda ayudarme a fijar la pieza-entrada usb del kobo. Supongo que me tocará usarlo poco estas vacaciones.

Pues es raro, como siempre le ando metiendo mano a mi kobo, le he hecho restauración de fábrica varias veces y siempre he podido configurarlo sin pc.
Si agarra el cargador de celular pero no el cable usb, ¿por qué no pruebas con otro cable o con el kobo abierto y moviendole con cuidado el puerto a ver si agarra?
No creo que vaya suelto, si no te atreves a pegarlo tu misma, llevarlo a donde arreglan pc's, sería una buena opción.

I wonder if all that is needed is a master reset. It sounds like the information is corrupted. Or lt cpi;d be as simple as the internal memory card (not all are a card) could be knocked loose.

Do the master reset if that works and resets its all good. If it doesn't reset then it could be the loose internal memory card

I dont think thats the problem... the kobo works fine... but the mini usb thing (I can remember the name right now) is doing false contact... don't know if I explain enough but I hope that.

So it doesn't stay the enough time to be detected by the pc or charged property.

It sounds like the microUSB connector in the Kobo has come unsoldered from the PC board? Take it to a local electronics repair shop and see if they can solder it back on.

Return it? It should have a one year mfg. warrenty and 2 year if you bought it with credit card.

Seeing the poster's profile shows Mexico, it's likely he did not purchase the unit locally, so it might be a challenge returning it.

Yeap, I'm from Mexico... even don't know where to take it to be solded again. Not a lot of people read in Mexico... and the people who read don't know very well the ereaders so... it's difficult to find somebody that have the enough... ahm... courage? To try to fix it. I guess I'll look for somebody that repair tablets or something like that.

Sorry for my English... really don't remember how to spell a lot of words so I improvise.

Get it was a big challenge, it includes other sellers on internet so return it isn't an option. I've to fix it or I'll have to buy another one.

Someone doing tablet etc repair should be able to do it. Concepts are the same. Just make sure they realize how fragile the screen is or you could end up with a broken substrate.

Your English is pretty darn good, no need to apologize.
