Spoilt Kobo Touch screen?
Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum, and I'd like your help. My Kobo Touch screen has recently gone all wonky and has frozen in this state, as seen in the photo. I wonder if there's some way I can fix it myself. I'm from Singapore so warranty's pretty much out of the question. Thanks a lot !

That looks a lot like a broken screen. Can not say for sure. But you may be S.O.L

A little excessive pressure on screen or twisting the reader will damage the screen. Users want light weight, thin reader which makes them delicate. Flexible eink screens should prevent this problem when they become commonly available. Use of better reader covers that have rigid screen protection can help prevent this damage to present readers.

I had a damaged Kobo Wifi screen so bought replacement. Still live dangerously carrying Kobo Wifi in front loose fit jeans pocket with book cover and now carry Kobo Mini there or shirt pocket with no cover.

Love Kobo Mini small size and $40 price. Installed 4 Gig SD card which was easy but not really needed with only 12 books & news papers. Cheap enough to not worry about replacement cost.

I keep buying new ereaders even though none of mine have broken yet. The kindle I got my mother broke even though she treated it like a centuries old Ming vase. It was a software problem but she was so convinced that she must have squeezed it too hard with her frail arthritic hands that I bought her a padded leather cover. Makes it much bulkier and heavier, but she thinks it is the cat's meow.

But does she have a cover on her newer expensive cell phone? No she just shoves it in her pocket unthinkingly because that is what everyone else does.

I am a lot less careful, my poor PRS 350 went through the laundry once uncovered and still works fine.

You might be able to find a good deal on a replacement screen in your part of the world. If not, maybe you can get a mini while they're still on sale.
