Collections file

Hi

I have been trying to manually create collection files. On the internet I found that they should be sha1 checksums.

I created test collections on my Kindle and got this in collections file :

And I have no idea how those hashes are created...

Anyone knows?

Look at the Calibre Kindle Collections plugin for more details, but, in short:

Starts with a star: SHA1 checksum of the absolute path of the file on the device
Starts with a hash: ASIN^cdeType (both come from the MOBI header)

(And, you guessed it, the SHA1 way is the fallback [it's a legacy remnant of how it was first handled in FW 2.5] when there's not enough metadata support in the fie format (ie. PDF)).
