Going Back To Previous Firmware
Hi,

Ever since the my Glo updated to 2.6.1 it has become sluggish and takes a good 3/4 taps before it changes pages, opens a book etc.

I would like to go back to the previous firmware 2.5.1 which worked brillantly for me.

I have done the firmware change before on my old KT but I can't remember how to do it. Could anyone please give me the basics on how to go about it and a link to the 2.5.1 firmware?

ETA: I have done a soft reset a couple of times by putting a pin in the hole down the bottom and removed a chunk of books I keep on the Glo. The only thing I haven't done yet is a hard reset.

To go back from 2.6.1, you need to do a factory reset. During the set up, it will download the latest firmware. You need to replace the new firmware files with the files for the firmware you want to use. This is easiest if you do the set up using the desktop application.

Some people have reported simlar problems after other firmware updates too, I think it is often that something has gone wrong in the update process rather than the firmware version itself being slow.

So if this is the only reason for going back to an earlier firmware version, before doing a factory reset you might try just powering off/on, and if that has no effect try logging out of your account, which will rebuild the database and might fix the issue. If all that fails then a factory reset is still an option.

My Glo now seems to be stuck in boot up mode. The green light up the top is flashing green and the only thing on the screen is the squares that have the colour that move across the screen showing it booting up or whatever.

Is there anything I can do to get it out of this? It seems to be stuck!
