Ditto on the Wow! Is it on the market or just a prototype? Any idea of cost?

From what I can see it is available, but you need to be serious enough to give information to get a phone call about it. It is obviously institutional level in cost. The cost for someone wanting to digitize a few dozen of their novels is probably going to be prohibitive. Any librarians around here gotten a price quote?
In other news I found a $25,000 television available at FutureShop. |

Well it was during a discussion about publicly avilable book scanners at libraries that it was recommended. It was used in a Dansih library but I don't remember more than that.

It looks very slick, I wonder if it uses an infrared grid to calculate curvature like the Google scanners apparently do. It appears that the price of the base scanner (300 DPI) is "just under $10,000".

It can stay at my house. Owly and Xanthe can use it on Mondays, bgalbrecht and PeterT can use it on Tuesdays, Homeinmyshoes and Crich70 can use it on Wednesdays, AJ Starr and Alicepatinnson can use it on Thursdays, and I'll take the rest of the days.
Also, I'll need to borrow about 3 grand for my share. ![]() |
