Managing User Sub-Libraries
I apologize if this has been addressed before, I wasn't able to find anything.
We have multiple people accessing the same Calibre library. I would like a way to identify books as person1, person2 etc. Not the books that are on the ereader, but rather books that are on someone's 'next to read' list or 'books I like' list. If that makes any sense. Any ideas from anyone are greatly appreciated. Cliff |

I haven't used it myself, but I keep seeing members mention the virtual libraries feature. May be something you could use, though you may have to add a tag or two to start

Thanks Gabby, it's close, but not quite what I'm looking for. I'd still like to see all the books, only have the sub-group identifiable.
I appreciate the reply. |

No prob but I think you can do that with Vir Lib...From what I read it keeps all the books together, but allows you to choose a virtual library to segment out only those you want to see based on search terms you specify.
Otherwise I think you could add custom columns/tags to simulate what you want. |

How about a custom column? There's a Quick Create for People's Names and then change the Column Type to "Text, with a fixed set of permitted values". Add the comma seperated names and there you go.

Virtual libraries is the way to handle this within Calibre.
You might want to also look at the Reading List plugin as this allows you to queue books for syncing with specific devices. Using this you can then easily queue new books for one or more users when you add them to the library. |

Thanks jgaiser. I think this is what I'm looking for. Easy to add, click to sort, does the job.
Thanks to all for the replies! |
