I've been converting a lot of book lately and sometimes they come out huge like 1.4 all the way up to 5.0 in size for books with under 200 pages and no images other than the covers. I usually have to convert to Mobi then back to Epub to get the true file sizes.
Has anybody put together a conversion chart that has basic info about what size books of certain lengths should convert to? 100 pages or less 0.1 200 Pages or less 0.2 And so on just to give a general idea of what sizes they should be. ![]() |

There are visible characters and there is XHTML code (that the reader does not see). So I could have 5 words with a humungous set of styling (the code is 5 times longer than the visible text ![]() Then the whole mess gets compressed (Zipped). The size after compression depends on the actual content. Add Images, Add Fonts, add a complex stylesheet and size vs pages becomes even more meaningless. Forget this kind of chart, it is only close for un-styled, plain text |
