Book Cover

Hello Mobilereaders

I have my Kindle PW for about a month and so far, I like it. Alot! Nothing I can say about it but having a great time everytime I read with it.

I just have one simple question. I have so many free ebook in my computer and I have no problem transferring it to my Kindle. But, when they appear on my Kindle, they don't have the book cover. Just the tittle and the author appears. But, when I transfer the book from my computer to my galaxy Tab, the cover appears just like the way it should be. But, when I transfer it to Kindle, just tittle and author. I use Calibre to convert some of the format of the book, from epub to mobi and then trasfer it to Tab, no problem with the cover.

Are there any thread before regarding this matter or what should I do to make the book in my Kindle have a proper cover?

Any answers and advises will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

How are you sending the ebooks? Via a USB cable or the 'Send to Kindle' feature in Calibre?

Are you actually in Cover View, or are you in List View?

Check the menu on the top right.

He stated that he can only see the title and author. So I think you're right, he might've set the view to List. Could be as simple as that!

I recently bought a PW, and had the same issue.

.mobi files transfered by USB to the PW (using simple drag&drop in an explorer) did not have the cover shown on the PW.

You could use Calibre for USB-transfering-to-device.

As far as I know, the PW depends on a specially named thumbnail jpg file, in a special folder. That thumbnail gets created automatically if you buy/download from Amazon.
Calibre (after a certain version), figured out the need for this thumbnail, and creates it (there's also a pixel size restriction for the thumbnail)

Alternatively, you could send the book with "email to Kindle Amazon Cloud" ...

I followed your instruction by sending the book via calibre instead of drag and drop and I've tried it and it works! Thank you!

Thanks for the info. This has bugged me too. To anyone knowing the specs for the special stuff, would you please post them in my cross thread.
