How to set up a poll?

Once again exposing my stupidity to public view

Search gets pages and pages of hits, with polls posted, but no instructions. I've looked thru the posting guidelines and the FAQ, but can't find what I need.

When posting a new thread, I see at the bottom the option to "include poll."

How do you actually set up a poll?

I think that thread (or a new one containing the information) should be a sticky or in the FAQ or something.

I couldn't get Search to cooperate, I got 20 pages of hits and I'm too old to use a week of my twilight years looking through 20 pages of posts.
