Been "away" for a bit - is the current firmware stable?

I have a Glo currently on 2.10.0 (Oct 21 release) and have enjoyed the stability and fixed default fonts as far as italics and whatnot.

However, I have been too busy to really read for a couple of months so I haven't picked my kobo up aside from charging it.

After searching around a bit I see the FW has been updated a few times since my current installation.

What I'd like to know is, is the current firmware stable? Are there a lot of bugs or anything? Or should I stay with 2.10.0 for now? I remember at one point I chose to skip one of the updates that was riddled with issues, but I can't remember which one that was now. Unfortunately since I haven't been around here in the forums much either, I've lost track of which FW updates are stable and which aren't and all of that.

Clue me in, please? Thanks!

For me using an Aura HD, 3.1.1 has been one of the better releases.

Along the way 3.0.0, 3.0.1 and 3.1.0 had a few problems, but 3.1.1 has been very good.

It's been solid on my Glo.

A handful of people here have experienced issues re-connecting to Wifi, without a cause being really pinned down (different router configurations, etc have been postulated). Some have found the workaround of assigning a static IP address to the Glo works.

Thanks everyone! I thought I saw something about battery life being a problem with 3.1.1? Is that still the case?

That would be me. I upgraded from 3.0.1 to 3.1.1 and had issues with the battery draining overnight. But when I did a factory reset and upgraded directly to 3.1.1 (bypassing 3.0.1), the battery issue went away. 3.1.1 has been the most stable and bug-free FW for my Aura HD, and I am very satisfied with it.

Happy with 3.1.1. on my Aura and my Aura HD. And I love the new Pocket integration; you might like it, too:

What he said: 3.1.1 + Aura HD + pocket == serious goodness.

3..0.0 was actually only for the Touch, but those of us who sideloaded it onto the Glo/AuraHD found some problems:
- reading settings for books on the external SD card forgotten during sleep.
- device goes back to sleep shortly after being woken if screen not touched.

These were fixed in 3.1.0, but 3.1.0 had a another problem with the layout of kepub books.

All these problems were fixed in 3.1.1.

I have the Glo too, and I don't have any complaints re. the latest firmware. I just have the slight feeling that the lowest setting of the frontlight is slightly brighter than it used to be (at least it bothers SWMBO more than it used to, at night in bed )

3.1.1 has been good for me and my Aura HD. I do have the WiFi re-connect issue, though

What's the secret sauce for getting the pocket integration working?

I've created a pocket account, the Aura thinks it is linked to it, pocket thinks the Aura is linked to it, but pocket articles just do not sync to the Aura.

Everything looks right, except it doesn't work :-(
