Dark Smudges on Paperwhite Screen
I have just received a replacement Kindle Paperwhite for one which had a battery problem. This replacement has four dark smudges at the bottom of the screen. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about it? Thank you.

It's the shadows from the LED lights. Some PW's have more obvious shadowing than others. It's perfectly normal.
