cannot view comics news feed
I updated Calibre to 9.24 Saturday and when my Arcamax and Gocomics news feeds ran on Sunday, I couldn't view them in Moon+ Reader. I was previously on Calibre 9.11 and I could view them fine. I downgraded back to 9.11 and ran the news feeds again and they work fine.
The problem is that when I tap on the comic and then tap on the plus sign that comes up to enlarge it, there was only three pictures I could view. I finally determined that the ones I could view were .jpg and .png files. All other comics were .jpeg and Moon+ couldn't enlarge those. Is there an easy way to make all comics use the .jpg extension instead of .jpeg? |

calibre news download process was recently changed to preserve the original image from the website as much as possible (earlier everything would be automatically converted to .jpg). This is in general a good thing. You should report this bug to Moon+ hopefully they will fix it quickly, as .jpeg is a perfectly valid file extension for JPEG images.
There isn't anyway to do this easily in calibre, I suggest you stick with 0.9.11 until the bug is fixed in Moon+. EDIT: I was wrong about not being able to change this easily in calibre, I have made the change that jpeg files are always saved with .jpg extension, in news downloads, will be in the next release. Thank you!!! I was really looking forward to trying out the new Edit TOC and now I will be able to.
I'll still try to see if the bug can be fixed in Moon+. ![]() |
