[solved] How to convert a webpage (html) to an ebook ?
SOLVED
format you webpage into index (a link to each subpage) <a> format href="file1.html" directory format: file1.html file2.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello, I have the webpage in it's entirely on my localhost and it's ready to go. Goal: Convert a webpage into an ebook with a working table of contents Question: Has anyone ironed out a working process? If so, what exactly did you do? Trials os: Fedora Core 13 calibre 0.9.19 (latest) 1) Dragging a zip file of the compressed folder containing the webpage root Results: error message 2) Drag the index.html to the calibre window Results: It creates an all one page ebook with and omits most of the site. Referenced file not found Needed: * All pages showing. * A functional table of contents, or some way to make my own. It didnt seem to find my css, and it sent back some errors here: Can anyone make any suggestions for working out a process or can link to working reference materials? Dragging the HTML file should be all that is required as long as all files are local and are referenced via the index.html file or pages referenced by index.html.
When the index.html file is added to Calibre then all the relevant files are put into a ZIP file. Opening that ZIP file to work out what is missing might help you identify what is being omitted - and looking at the html might help identify why. |
