Gifting K3: de-register to remove my books?
My sister-in-law accidentally broke her K3, and since I have the PW now I'd like to give mine to her. If I de-register the K3, will it remove my books?

It won't remove your books, just prevent access to your account and then obviously your SIL just needs to register it to her account.To remove what's on your Kindle you need to do a factory reset.
