capture stories from "white on black" web sites
many web sties present "text" stores in a white text on black background format.

this is annoying when trying to download & convert to epub. the epubs maintain the reversed colours & css has to be individually edited to fix.

one solution is to convert to text & back, in order to invert the colours - I wonder is there is a slicker way to download as html & add to calibre

Have you tried the conversion options: Look and Feel: Filter Style tab : Colors ?

i am not finding that tab - where is it exactly - starting from main preferences screen please - I am in calibre64 version

My 64 bit (laptop) is not unpacked for testing...BUT

This probably should NOT be done in the Global, Conversion Preferences setting.

Use the per book CONVERSION setting screen, to perform your clean-up. Bulk mode Conversion can work here IF you use the current default settings by ticking the box AND set your additional preferences on THAT conversion form

Look into Instapaper: http://www.instapaper.com/

Set up an account, tag whatever pages you want to download with Instapaper, and then download via the Instapaper recipe in Calibre. It will deliver 'clean' versions of the page with just the body text nicely formatted for reading.
