Thanks. Another full o/s image, I see, rather than a patch.

There's a similar thread in the Kindle Developer's Corner.
It seems that ixtab's jailbreak still works after the update. |

No. I've never "jail broken" any device I've owned, and I've no intention of starting now

I just upgraded my PW to 5.3.3 but still have that bug where I cannot run Active Content. I had reported that to the KIndle Paperwhite Development Team back on Dec 1, 2012. Oh well.
I will just have to rely on all my Kindle Apps running on my KFHD7-32. |

Yes, it works, but you can not install jailbreak on the device with a new firmware.
Why doesn't Amazon let hackers to make our lives easier? There is LOTS of functionality that I miss on my Paperwhite and that hackers provide. |

So if I'm going to jailbreak my paperwhite, I need to do it before the update?
I'm still back and forth on jailbreaking. On the one hand, I want to have better collections management; on the other, I'm terrified that I'll ruin the PW. |

You won't ruin your PW by merely jailbreaking it. There are probably hundreds of thousands of jailbroken Kindles out there, and none of them just turns into a brick because it's jailbroken...
You simply shouldn't do stuff that you don't understand on a jailbroken device (just like you shouldn't simply delete random files on your computer if you don't know what they're good for). But using the pre-packaged hacks and following the instructions, you won't harm your Kindle. Anyway, this is probably getting off-topic for this forum. You're welcome to join the "sister thread" in the dev subforum ![]() |

Hmm. What happened to 5.3.2 for the PW? Mine displays 5.3.1. Was 5.3.2 reserved for the KTouch recently or have I been asleep? :what:
