Voyage Prefix: PW3

Low cost, touch screen, no front light, 4GB, i.MX6 SoC Prefix: BK (Basic Kindle - 2014).

I went with kb in a hurry, but I don't really like it (reminds me too much of the K3, sometime called Kindle KeyBoard), so I kinda like bk .

As for PW3, I'd kind of like to keep using voyage somehow or in some form, but it's a bit long as is and hard to shorten, so pw3 might have to do ;p.

Kindle 2014 - KTN (Kindle Touch Next or Kindle Touch New or Kindle Touch. Not! ). K5B (K5 Bourbon, after board name)? To the fullest confusion Amazon names it Kindle 7th Generation on Source Code Notice page. K7TH? KTHXBYE

That all makes good sense to me.
I will second this suggestion.
(Amazon might change their mind about what a "Basic" Kindle is in the future.)

We have one two of the new model numbers now (KT2 - Japan and Europe).

We just have to wait until the others actually ship and people to report on those model numbers.

How about Wiki prefix index pages for these?
(I am sort-of volunteering myself, I think I can remember how we did it.)

Oh - and do we want a PW2 index page to bring the set up to date?
(There isn't too much PW2 stuff to sort out.)

I don't think so.
Latest firmware updates made both models nearly equal.

As things stand at the moment, I would agree.

But the PW2 was the first i.MX6 Kindle, and now there are two more (evidently).

With all three "current production" Kindles now running on an i.MX6 SoC -
we may start seeing i.MX6 specific things developed.
(Most likely in the areas of graphics, using the i.MX6 graphics co-processor.)

A related note -
There are Embedded Linux devices out there that are booting on the graphics co-processor.
We may have to investigate that as a Jailbreak vector.
