Show only a given format(s)?

First off my apologies for this being somehow not forum cool but my search fu is weak.

I have a giant library and I want to see only the books that are txt format. (I'll play with others later.)

Is there any way to make calibre hide all the other formats? When I select a format from the option on the left of the main screen all it does is highlight the given format in green, now I want to make all the others vanish so I can proceed to work with this one format normally. (Sort by title or author for example.)

Change the state of the button with the horizontal bars (near the search box)

Two ways to see only a specific format whether txt, text, epub, mobi, etc;

1) Open the tag browser (click on the tag icon bottom right) then click the "<" to the left of the word Formats. This will show all the formats. Then click on the TXT or text to see only those. Then go to the top left and click on the "Restrict to v' button and select *Current Search.

2) In the top format dialog type "formats:txt" without the "" and press enter. Then go to the top left and click on the "Restrict to v' button and select *Current Search.
