Samsung Galaxy 5.8? e-reader?
Thinking about getting Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 for e-reader.. looks like the same as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone.. minus the 4g... I like the Big Screen.. maybe a good compliment to the iPad Mini and the Kindle or Nook etc.. what's your take and suggestions?

For reading, I prefer an eink screen over an LCD. Not to mention the Galaxy will be more expensive than an eink reader.

I read on my Galaxy Note and that works fine. Not sure how it works with older eyes though. Text is kind of small, granted you can enlarge fonts but then page turning becomes more frequent, so if you're dependent on a certain pace for comfortable reading you will need to try it for a while before you know if it suits you.
