Canadian Travel

Can anyone recommend any good travel-related Canadian books? Along the lines of Michael Palin, Bill Bryson, Paul Theroux etc.

Now that you've raised the question, I'm interested in people's answers. Being from Vancouver originally, and having spent time there since, I've always thought the place shared a certain overcast sensibility with London, a quality which is often in the humor as well. Then, too, politeness in both countries can border on ostentation (however carefully reticent or dutifully humble), which seems complimentary.

Will Ferguson isn't a travel writer specifically, but he and his brother's notes on Canadian culture do veer closely in satirical books like How to Be a Canadian.

Also by Will Ferguson, Beauty Tips from Moose Jaw is more travel related.

Another that comes to mind is Pierre Berton's [fixed typo] Drifting Home: A Family's Voyage of Discovery Down the Wild Yukon, a re-creation of a historical trip.

How about Noah Richler's This is My Country, What's Yours?: A Literary Atlas of Canada ?
For me, I felt he really captured the essence of my province of birth, Saskatchewan.

FWIW, Noah Richler is Mordecai Richler's son.

I'm familiar with the White Fang (a novel named after its key critter), but White Fangs sounds like it might be about a vampire Aryan Nation dedicated to wiping out post-ACLU vampires whose blood diet is insufficiently Caucasian.
