SO I finally read the Princess Bride

SO I finally read the Princess Bride. I have enjoyed the movie for years, but only recently discovered the book. The back and forth comments from the "author" who "abridged" the "original" work were a huge piece the movie missed. Well done! But grrrr, the "Lady or the Tiger" endings. BAH hate those.

Anyways, buried in the book there is an address to mail in to get a chapter about the reunion of Buttercup and Wesley. Has anyone ever tried to mail in and get it? What were your results?

I read the anniversary edition a while ago and it had an extra part at the end that tells the story of what happens next.

No, not the end. That is "Buttercup's Baby", I am talking about one of the chapters that was "cut" by publisher. You can actually request it online I discovered :

http://www.harcourtbooks.com/PrincessBride/request.asp

They will email it to you. Go ahead, if you enjoyed the book, you will enjoy the humor of the "missing scene"

I say I only read based on professional reviews, but I sometimes make an exception for stuff I hear about on this board. So because of that, and because Goldman's The Season: A Candid Look at Broadway was terrific, I'm going to try this.

Given that I'd have to pay for the Kindle book (no, not very much) -- is it worth getting it? I love the movie, but haven't read the book.

If you by the current anniversary edition it comes with "Buttercup's Baby" which is a short sequel to it. Looks like ist about $5 on Kindle now

http://www.amazon.com/The-Princess-B...mm_kin_title_0

So not to bad to buy at least. For $5 I think its worth it. The full movie is there (with some minor differences) but you get the entire second story line of the "abrdigers" interaction with the text, plus the sequel. Oh, and the ending is different.

"My name is Iningo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!" lol.
I have the paperback somewhere here, and love the humor of the movie.
