New update to Reader Library 3.3.00.07130??
I've currently got Sony Reader Library 3.3.00.07130.
When I launched it, I got an advisory that there is an update. So I closed Reader Library and then relaunched it. This time I got no advisory about any update and when I went to Help to Check for Updates, the info there said there are no current updates. What can anyone tell me about this (apparently?) new update? Is there one? Or not? If yes, is it any good? Thanks for any info! |

Hi, Pete. That's the same version that I have of Reader Library. I doubt there will be any more updates of this software in the future since Sony has transitioned to Reader for PC/Mac.

I was just messing around with the old software. I clicked on the bookstore link and it brought up a window advising me of an update with pictures of the new Reader for PC/Mac software. This popup window is new! It used to just link to the bookstore. I clicked the "Hide for 30 days" in the popup window and then it went to the bookstore like usual. I wonder if this notice is what you saw?

I wouldn't doubt that that is the same one I saw.
I can't see any reason to opt for an update since the Reader Library is already serving my purposes on the rare occasions that I use it. |

You only need the new program if you have a T1 or T2. Otherwise the old program is much better. The new one takes away a lot of features. I don't recommend upgrading unless you have to.

So I had a similar experience to the original poster. I started the Mac app and got a message for an update. I got to the update page and it reports I am not connected to the internet. This is strange since I can browse the bookstore. Is this the 32 bit mode problem in another guise? I am not turning my mac back to 32 bit mode just to get an update to an app I only use because I think they have the best reporting for new books. I have switched to B&N for new books which I read on my iPad and use Bluefire for my existing Sony DRM purchases.
