WTF? Ray Bradbury Disappears from Kindle Store

I was rummaging around Amazon last night, and found some fabulous Ray Bradbury books to buy for my Kindle: Stories Volume 1, Stories Volume 2, and Dandelion Wine.

I believe they were $10 each; I didn't buy them because I have an Amazon gift card I haven't yet applied to my account, so I put them on my wish list for purchase today.

They're still on my wish list, but "not currently available" with no price on the Kindle store page.

What just happened? Is it normal for books from major publishers to just disappear like that? I can still get to the individual book pages from my wish list, and can even click to look inside, but can't actually purchase the books.

These are available in the UK, I found them on Kobo. My guess is that they were not supposed to be available in the US and either this was a mistake at Amazon or you were logged in with UK (say) as your home.

That can't be--I don't even have a UK login. They evidently have been available on the Kindle store for quite some time, they have reviews and everything.

I must be the unluckiest soul alive--I am gradually replacing all of my real books with Kindle books, with the hopes of eventually being 100% electronic. I have searched many times for Bradbury's Stories with no success. It seems pretty ironic that I finally find them, and less than twelve hours later I can no longer purchase them.

One other frustrstation, tangentially related since the books are still available in the UK. I've been wanting to read An Officer and a Gentlewoman by Goodley, but it also is not available in the US.

I wish that international law/copyright, etc. would hurry and catch up with this shrinking planet of ours! We're more connected than ever before, with instant communication, fast travel, etc. but we still can't read what we would like to read. SIGH.

Is it possible to buy UK Kindle books from here in the USA? I can download and transfer via USB instead of Whispernet, of course.

I always wondered why Books on the Knob (my favorite ebook/free book blog) always lists the Kindle UK Deal of the Day, teasing us with all of those wonderful reads that we can't get here.

On the plus side, I bought Ray Bradbury's Stories Volume 1 and it is still in my Kindle Cloud. I downloaded it and removed DRM and put into Calibre the day I bought it (thanks for the tip folks!) so at least I will still have it if they take it away.

In the past I've seen books pulled like this in anticipation of a re-release.

If it had a lot of typos & other mistakes they take it OFF while they fix it! They did this to a ebook I had [I kept mine til it was fixed then they offered to trade LOL] and an ebook I wanted part of a series. 1 week was there then was gone 6 weeks later it was back!

Heres a whole 3 pages + of his.... http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...=Ray+Bradbury+ [USA]

A few Bradbury books yes, but not the two volumes of Stories, unless they went back on sale this afternoon.

Yes, they are there, as is Dandelion Wine.

I am in Australia, but we use the US store. Where are you? There often seems to be some disparity depending on geographic location.

I just did the search from the US in the US store and found the hardcover and audiobook versions of Dandelion Wine. No Kindle versions. Just that little solicitation to ask the publisher for a Kindle version.

I don't see it in the nook store either.

Hmmm....I'm not seeing them in Kindle.

To the O.P. maybe you were looking/noticing paper editions?
