Recipe collection
Main calibre site - http://calibre-ebook.com/ - does not have any recipe collection, only help files on how to create new one.
However, it's quite technical and very few people will finish that for their favorite sites. Built-in list of recipes is very small and definitely not enough for many calibre users. This question is mostly to Kovid, but if someone else can do it, it will be great. Two important features are user flags (working\not working - because sites can stop working after redesign) and download counts. Anyone? |

As to download counts, I put a link in the sticky above to a page giving usage statistics for builtin recipes. You should read the sticky, but I'll post the link here: What recipes are other people using? Recipe Stats lists recipes in order of their frequency of use. Web sites change frequently, and the matching recipe has to be changed accordingly. When you run a builtin recipe, Calibre automatically checks an online recipe database and uses the most recent version of that recipe. You automatically get the current recipe, even if you haven't had a chance to update Calibre recently. This online check is used to provide the recipe statistics of use seen at the link above. It's also why you shouldn't change Calibre's locally stored copy of a recipe. It's only used as a backup if the recipe database is not accessible. (If you want to modify a built in recipe - continue reading). It is a huge job to maintain all the recipes, so if you want to improve the system, feel free to post here when you find a non-working recipe and fix any that you can (or track down the author and request a fix). The more volunteers the better. Last edited by Starson17; 10-05-2011 at 09:32 AM. |

I probably skipped recipes stats because I was looking for recipes library. Anyway, this explains why it's not done.

Hi, and again thanks for a tool that is easy enough for the noob to find fantastically useful, while having the ability for a programmer-bent user to customize (thinking of the recipes here).
So may I offer the observation that if the recipe stats represent percentage of all downloads each recipe accounts for... My spreadsheet totals it to 60.79%. Why not 100% (I'm no statistician, so...) |

Those are the stats for the top 150 recipes not all. SO it wont add up to 100%.
