Updating by Wifi causes a freeze
So this started happening this week--I went to update my Kobo by wifi, which I do periodically, and it's just been freezing up. It says "Checking for Updates", but it just stops dead. The entire device freezes and I have to play my little "unfreeze my Kobo" games to get it going again.
Anybody else experiencing this? Any advice or ideas? |

Nobody else is getting this? Hmm. I know it's not my wifi, because I also use it for my mobile phone and that's been working just fine. Guess I'll have to see if I can do some experimenting somehow.

I too have been having this problem. I have not had the time or energy to brave the 'customer support' folks. I usually end up so upset that my dog hides under the bed when I talk to them.

becky, my problem seemed to be related to the number of shelves I had. Do you have a lot of them?

I had about 15 shelves when my Kobo account started having issues when I would purchase new books. The solution from Kobo support was for me to create a new account to which they would merge in my existing account.
The result of this was no shelves (including the shortlist that should have been included as a default). I also lost the ability to see the percent read of my books- everything stays at 0%. I have not created any shelves in the new account, however I have over 400 books. This issue happened after the merge, so I wonder if my problem is related to Kobo's fix. |
