Sony is bound to do something if they don't want to lose this market completely. They need to come up with something others don't have yet and color could be it. But it's too soon to rejoice, a prototype does not mean a new reader any time soon ...

i think they are looking to this technology also for tablets,
I think in future phone and ereaders could be more and more similar, in the last Berlin fair it has been proposed to put eink on the back of the traditional phone, instead of plastic, looks a smart move.. but now this japanese company is proposing something new, concurrency makes the product more nice for our final customers, only I hope sony will show guts, investing more and more in that, they do not deserve to lose market quotes, their readers are amazing, and the offer dictionary of quality, solid hardware, i do not want to lose epub portability, as my heart is gnu

got another interesting article from same website Hanvon e-book reader will be first with color e-ink technology

If sony comes up with color e-ink then it will probably bounce back to its deserved first position..

that link is dated november 2010 there are already eink color devices available.
