Ready to order H2O but where?

I am now ready to order a Kobo Aura H2O. Should I order from Kobo or should I order from Chapters?

What are the pros and cons from ordering from each shop?

Being that you are in the states, if you order from Chapters, should there be anything wrong with it, you'll have to exchange it via Kobo. Someone on here received a defective one from Chapters and Chapters told them they could only return it in store, they couldn't mail it back to Chapters.

So to me it seems better to just order direct from Kobo for those in the states. I'm not sure how fast Kobo's delivery time is, but Chapters seems fast. That might be the one advantage. Most people on here seem to receive it in a few days. Kobo may take longer, although I'm not sure.

I would wait until Black Friday and see what is offered by Kobo and Chapters as well as what discount codes work on the Kobo site.
Prices being equal it seems that ordering from Kobo in the US is better for returns and ordering from Chapters is better for delivery.
Also ordering from Chapters will be in $Cdn, not sure about US orders from Kobo.
You can do a search on this site for "discount codes" for the Kobo site. The one that is working right now is for the Aura only. (JUSTFORYOU)

I would be afraid to order anything from Kobo (and never have).

There have been way too many horror stories from people who have attempted to deal with Kobo.

Some people have, indeed, been well served by them. But still.....my fear is great.

I think I ordered my Kobo Aura HD [not the one you are asking about] from 'Green'-something and had no problem. Perhaps if another member can give more information on this vender that I can't remember.....

You can preorder from Politics & Prose in DC -- supposed to have it beginning of next week: http://www.politics-prose.com/product/kobo-aura-h2o. I had a good experience with my Aura order from them a couple months ago.

I'll give them a call to find out what the return policy is. I can easily wait until the 24th to place the order.

Some posters on the Australian Whirlpool forum have ordered from Chapters Indigo and report very quick delivery. I did not see any complaints, but receiving a defective unit from any overseas order is always a nightmare.

$179.99 Canadian works out to $159.30 US.

I called Chapters customer service today and it's only if you are in Canada do you have to bring a Kobo Reader back to the store. From the US, I can send it back for replacement if need be. So I think I'll order it from Chapters given the exchange rate with the US. The only thing I need to decide is if I want to also get the Kobo sleep cover with it or a different cover.
