New "HowTo" forum prefix

We can now create threads in the Kindle Developer's Corner with a new "HowTo" prefix.

When you create a thread, just select a prefix from the "Prefix" drop down menu in the "Post New Thread" page to indicate the major topic category you want listed to the left of the thread title.

When adding to index wikis, you can put links in all appropriate categories, but you only get a single thread prefix.

Now the prefixes match the index wikis. I hope this helps.

Thank dreams for adding this prefix for us!

EDIT: The "HowTo" prefix is a short form of "How-To", using its definiton as an English noun as explained here at WikiPedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How-to
Quote:
A how-to is an informal, often short, description of how to accomplish some specific task. A how-to is usually meant to help non-experts, may leave out details that are only important to experts, and may also be greatly simplified from an overall discussion of the topic. One of the earliest how-to books was published in 1569 by Thomas Wight...
In this forum, "HowTo" is a short instructional guide small enough to fit into the first post of a "HowTo" thread. Longer "HowTo" guides should be posted to a new Wiki page, and can be linked to a "HowTo" post along with an announcement of the new HowTo guide.

I guess this is for explaining "HOW TO" and not for asking "how to?". This could be not so obvious for non english speaking desperate guys asking - for example - "how to" unbrick their kindles...

The meaning should be clear once the non-English speaking person looks up what is entered under that prefix in the index system.

There isn't much that can be done for your example person - we already have "Help Me" graphics.

I added the definition of "HowTo" to the first post. It has been a common idiom in the English language since 1569. I hope this clears up any potential confusion for non-English speakers.
