How to Save Book Covers

I was wondering, when in the LIBPRS500 and importing covers, there is an option to browse for a cover. How can you import and save a cover on your own computer?

This question occurred to me while trying to fetch a cover from the server and being unable to do so (I sent a ticket for this). So, I was wondering if I could retrieve the cover I want from another source and save it to my computer and import it into the LIBPRS500.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

In the libprs500 GUI, in the "Edit Meta Information", it looks as it you can specify a local path to import (just above the "Fetch cover image from server" button).

I'm sorry if I didn't phrase my question properly. I'm aware of that button. My question is: Where can I actually get the covers to import to my computer? Is there a website that provides these covers?

Thanks.

You can get cover images off pretty much any book store website. Also you can just type the title in Google & use the image search. It'll usually turn up something.

libprs500 uses librarything to get the covers, you can get them from there manually.

Thanks everyone! Kovidgoyal: I know that LIBPRS500 will retrieve the covers, however, yesterday, while attempting to get covers I kept getting error messages. In the evening I was able to get them. That's why I was trying to find an alternative way.

Thanks.

I would be careful about downloading book covers for works to be distributed here. Just because a piece of literature is in the public domain does not necessarily mean that the cover art is also. While most classics I've seen tend to use art that is also in the public domain, some newer additions may use commissioned work.

I'm curious about how Amazon handles that because in many cases they are presenting customer scans.

Low-res scans of book covers are generally considered "fair use" under copyright law.

Just goto google, type what book cover you want, goto images it will be there somewhere.
Click on the small box then again on the small box in top corner and it will come up there.
Right click and save to desktop.

Most times you just need to put in name of book into google images and it will come up
