Best reader to get?

I want to read my technical IT books that come on CD in the back of the book to save me lugging the huge things around all the time.

I am interesting in the Sony PRS-505 as it has an eInk screen, but am worried about DRM as I have read people saying the PDF ebooks have lots of DRM and won't work with them.

I was looking at the PDF file in question (from CCNA Study Guide, BTW how is the formating of the page onscreen???) on my Mac and checking the permissions of it, it says I can read, copy text and print from it.

Also the page size is 19cmx24cm, will the sony display that nicely?

Will it be ok on the sony?

Or is there another device that'll be good.

I live in Tokyo, where the sony seems to be unavailable, so i will have to order from the US amazon store.

I am also considering an Ipod touch (and hoping a good pdf browser with bookmarks and other useful features will come along soon.)

The PDF books you get in that kind of thing don't generally have DRM.

However, no device with a 6" screen is going to display PDFs formatted for an A4/Letter page very well; there's no way around that. If displaying PDFs is important to you, the best eInk device for it by far is the iRex iLiad with its larger screen, although it is somewhat more expensive.

Couldn't one use something like libprs500 to convert the PDF to LRF though?

But it depends on how well it comes out. Might not come out good enough all of the time to warrant a 505. pdflrf does a pretty good job. But to be honest, an iLiad is best right now for PDF.
