Le Monde recipe - accented characters prob
Hi
I'm new to the forum and hope that someone can help with a problem I have with the Le Monde recipe. I have googled the problem and used search on this forum but please be patient if I've missed a solution. I'm using the latest version of Calibre for OS X (but the problem was there in earlier versions too). The Le Monde recipe downloads fine but the output mangles accented letters BUT only in the body of the article, not the headlines. As you can see the headline is fine but the body isn't. I've tried looking at the recipe and comparing it to the one for Liberation which works fine on my set up and I was hopeful the problem was in the extra_css section but my understanding of html and python isn't up to it. I tried adding copying across the Liberation extra_css but that resulted in the recipe failing to download at all. I've then tried instead adding the font family to the Le Monde one because it was in the Liberation but not in Le Monde recipe but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Could someone more knowledgeable (not hard) please see whether they have the same problem on their set up and give me some advice? Am I on the right track with looking at extra_css? Many thanks in advance George |

The recipe has encoding = 'cp1252' while the website shows UTF8, so this is likely the issue. If you replace the encoding statement with 'utf-8' that should resolve this.
