Calibre doesnt recognize Sony T1

I'm sure the solution to this problem is here some but after an hour of searching I decided to ask....I cannot get Calibre to "see" the Sony T1 device. I have uninstalled the original software, wiped my reader of everything, rebooted and Calibre still does not see the device. Does anyone have the details of what needs to be done so that Calibre sees the device? (I'm a little technically challenged and this has just left me stumped!!) I had been adding books into the Sony program and then syncing with the reader, but this is so redundent. Calibre is much nice to use, so I want to be able to add books directly...(without doing the drag & drop from windows )

When you plug in the T1, does the computer see it as a removable drive?

Yes, I can access it as a separate drive via Windows

Make sure you have no other devices connected at the same time and post the output of debug device detection from preferences->miscellaneous >Debug device detection.

What version of Calibre are you using?

EDIT: Also make sure that you don't have the Sony software and Calibre running at the same time.

Occasionally for me it takes a few restarts of calibre.

You have disabled the T1 plugin. Go to preferences->plugins->Device intrface plugins and re-enable it.

Check in the Calibre preferences in the Plugins area / Device Interface modjules. I think you will find that PRST1 is disabled.

I didnt realize that all of the plugins are enabled by default.....

Amanda it was nice that you stepped in to help, but you were 13 hours late. @spatlese, the person you were trying to help had acknowledged, in the post previous to yours, that the help given by previous folks in this thread was right on the mark and her problem had been solved. This was not a Sony problem it was a calibre setting problem that was easily corrected.

I applaud the concept of the Sonylistens account, but it has to be more than a name, you actually have to listen/read what is being discussed.

Hi all,

Sony intrusion aside, I can see my T1 with Calibre but I cannot find any plug-in specifically for my device as described here, even if I show the installed ones.

I have the latest version of Calibre but I cannot see the device interfaces plugins at all, is this possible?
