Well the screen isn't totally gone, a circle about 2 mm across has gone wrong on the screen.

I have emailed them to see how much a screen replacement is.

Unfortunately the cybook doesn't display the sort of pdf files I use the iliad for, so not much of a replacement

Guess you have to decide if a 2mm circle is sufficient to be worth replacing the screen. Obviously you'll always know that it's there, but practically it shouldn't stop you from reading.

The danger, however, is that it's a fracture in the delicate glass substrate under the screen and it could well "spread" with time
