I had a similar situation with my battery after perfoming a firmware upgrade without a full battery to begin with.

I found that when it reported that the battery was flat and turned itself off after a short while on standby, I could press the power button and it would turn itself back on again and I could keep reading. I keep doing this untill it doesn't turn back on.

This situation improved overtime and now I can go on for well over two weeks before this starts again. I think in a couple more charge cyycles, this will be gone form my T1.

Although mine wasn't rooted, I suspect it is the same issue.

No need for a factory reset, just persevere and it should start clearing up. I've had three full charge/recharge cycles and it's now just a mild anoyance that should be gone soon.

A, Yours is another example of why I would never consider rooting my ereader(s).

Try a soft reset. This often will solve the battery issue(s).

That's a suggestion I haven't seen before. I'll try that to solve my ongoing battery problem.

Can't say it will work for everyone but it does seem to be recalibrating the battery indicator for me.

As far as I can tell, I still have the same battery life overall, but while this is happening, I just need to be patient and keep turning it on.

Each time I recharge, this becomes less of an issue. Soon it should be gone.

I think they mean, 'damn you Sony, why didn't you provide an alphabetical list down the side of the index'.

Well - always root or unroot with battery 100% charged. It's simple as that.

Otherwise you're in need of battery calibration as described in the wiki. Or factory reset.

I think Sony didn't add an alphabet index because they included a scroll bar which works much better and faster.

yes - as the poster below yu said - its damn you Sony i dont have an alphabetical list, but i also dont have a scroll bar?

every time i go into books, i start at page one, and then have to go forward a page at a time, a scroll bar would be fine. i would prefer alpha list, but i would take the scroll bar

on my PRS300(?) and my PRS600 i had an alpha list, its like a big step backwards

(i have reset to factory and we seem to be ok now)

Here's how to get scroll bar:

When you're in the books section tap on the bottom where it says page 1 to ... and you'll see the scroll bar.

When reading a book and tapping on the bottom you'll also get a scroll bar among other options like table of contents and go to page.
